Jane Seymour has reflected on a memorable moment from 1985, when she took part in a staged “marriage” to Freddie Mercury during a charity fashion event in London. The event brought together prominent figures from the worlds of music and fashion.

Seymour recalled wearing an elaborate bridal gown designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel, accompanied by dramatic styling that made movement difficult. She described the outfit as striking but cumbersome, with a large floral headdress and bouquet adding to the challenge. Backstage, she found herself among well-known performers including David Bowie and Boy George, before joining Mercury onstage.

During the performance, Seymour recounted following Mercury across the stage as part of the theatrical presentation. At one point, he turned towards her and kissed her in front of the audience before throwing her bouquet into the crowd. She later described the moment as one of the most vivid and memorable experiences of her career.

Beyond the stage, Seymour’s personal life has included four marriages and four children. Meanwhile, Freddie Mercury never married but maintained a close lifelong relationship with Mary Austin, whom he described as his closest companion. He left her much of his estate, underscoring the significance of their bond.
