According to local authorities, Wright’s body was found in stagnant water near Bang Tao Beach on 14 March. Police stated that there were no visible signs of physical assault, and his mobile phone was located nearby. Officers reported that he had checked into a hotel alone and was due to check out on 13 March, but staff raised concerns after he failed to do so. A search of his room revealed no signs of forced entry or irregularities.
CCTV footage is said to show Wright appearing restless before leaving the hotel premises, with his movements later leading to the location where his body was discovered. Police indicated that he is believed to have died no more than two days before being found. The case remains under investigation, with officials awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
