Lisa Kudrow recalls hugging son on the comeback set

Some workers on The Comeback were reportedly left confused when Lisa Kudrow hugged Julian Murray Stern on set, unaware that he is her son. The 62-year-old actress suggested that the affectionate gesture may have appeared inappropriate to those who did not know their relationship. She recalled to People that she had been tired and distracted while going over her lines and instinctively climbed onto the couch beside Julian, prompting puzzled reactions from others present.

Julian, 27, makes his HBO debut in the third and final series of The Comeback, which follows Valerie Cherish, played by Kudrow, as she attempts to revive her acting career after a lengthy hiatus. Kudrow described the moment, explaining that some colleagues were unsure what was happening until Julian introduced himself as her son.

In conversation with the Daily Mail, Kudrow reflected on her 31-year marriage to advertising executive Michel Stern, 67, emphasising that their enduring relationship is built on a desire to stay together, mutual respect and ongoing effort. She recounted meeting Michel while living with a French friend, initially feeling it inappropriate to flirt but eventually reconnecting six years later, forming a lasting bond.
