Martha Stewart denies ever having plastic surgery

Date:

Martha Stewart has dismissed claims that she has undergone plastic surgery, insisting she has never gone under the knife. The 84-year-old lifestyle expert described herself as “the most honest person on earth” and said she cannot understand why people doubt her denials. Speaking about the launch of her skincare line, Elm Biosciences, she told People: “Everybody insists that I’ve had plastic surgery and I have not ever had plastic surgery. How can they not take my word for it? That’s the truth.”

Stewart recounted an incident in which she required cosmetic attention following an accident with one of her French bulldogs. She explained that while leaning down to kiss the dog goodbye, the animal suddenly bolted, causing her to split her lip. “I get to the hospital and I think they did 16 stitches in my lip. I can’t call that plastic surgery, that is a repair,” she said. Stewart stressed this was the only occasion a plastic surgeon has ever worked on her face.

The star noted that the injury forced her to miss a scheduled appearance, which she described as a rare event in her career. Despite the cosmetic work required after the accident, Stewart emphasised that it does not constitute elective plastic surgery, and she has otherwise avoided any surgical enhancements to her appearance.

A statement from the club’s ownership group welcomed her involvement, noting her long-standing career as a leading homemaking and lifestyle expert. Stewart follows her friends Snoop Dogg and Luka Modric in joining the club’s ownership.
