Prince and Princess of Wales appoint new senior communications officer

Date:

The Prince and Princess of Wales have appointed Rosie Trainor as a senior communications officer within their royal household. Ms Trainor, who previously worked as a senior account manager at the communications firm Freuds, is understood to have taken up the role this month as part of the couple’s expanding communications team.

Ms Trainor holds a master’s degree in politics and communications from the London School of Economics, as well as a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Durham University. Her appointment comes during a period of sustained activity for the Prince and Princess, whose public work is largely delivered through the Royal Foundation, the main vehicle for their charitable and philanthropic initiatives.

The Royal Foundation brings together several of the couple’s key projects, including the Prince of Wales’s Homewards programme addressing homelessness, the Princess of Wales’s work on early childhood development, and the Earthshot Prize, which focuses on environmental innovation. The new hire appears to align with a broader strengthening of the organisation’s leadership and communications capacity.

The appointment follows other recent changes within the Wales household, including the arrival of Sarah Henwood as chief executive of the Royal Foundation and the recruitment of additional communications staff. These developments indicate a continued effort to support the Prince and Princess of Wales in managing their public roles and advancing their long-term charitable priorities.
