Robbie Williams has spoken candidly about his behaviour at the height of his fame with Take That, describing himself as “the smuggest person that ever lived”. The singer made the remarks while performing at the O2 Academy Brixton on Sunday night as part of his limited Long 90s Tour, which focuses on material from across his career.

During the set, the 51-year-old performed songs from his debut solo album Life Thru A Lens alongside tracks from his latest release Britpop. Introducing the song Ego a Go Go, Williams referenced a recent documentary about Take That and acknowledged his treatment of former bandmate Gary Barlow, admitting he had since apologised repeatedly for his behaviour at the time.
Williams also used the concert to reflect on his enduring relationship with fans, thanking them for their loyalty over more than three decades. He likened their support to that given to a football club, expressing surprise at the longevity and scale of his success, including his record-breaking run of number one albums in the UK.

Despite his ability to sell out arenas, Williams has chosen smaller venues for this tour, which began in Glasgow and will conclude in Wolverhampton. His latest album Britpop, released earlier this year, became his 16th solo chart-topper and features collaborations with several high-profile artists, further cementing his status as one of the UK’s most successful recording artists.
