Shelton, who married Stefani in 2021, explained that rumours about their relationship appear and disappear based on fleeting public sightings. He said articles often suggest they have split or are heading for divorce, only for new headlines to claim they are “back together” when they are photographed doing everyday activities such as shopping.

He also raised concerns about misleading images circulating on social media, noting that some photos of the couple look convincing despite being inaccurate. Shelton said he has seen images in which he does not even recognise his own clothes or surroundings, reinforcing his view that online content cannot always be taken at face value.

In recent months, the couple have appeared keen to counter the speculation, sharing affectionate photos together during Thanksgiving and New Year celebrations. Shelton has previously said that after a decade together, their relationship still feels exciting, adding that the sense of time passing quickly may be a key part of their happiness.
