DoorDash has announced a strategic partnership with Also, a company spun off from Rivian, aimed at advancing autonomous delivery services. As part of the agreement, DoorDash will invest in the firm, with both companies seeking to accelerate the development and large-scale deployment of new delivery technologies.

Also specialises in micromobility vehicles that combine pedal power with electric assistance. While specific models for the partnership have not been confirmed, the company has developed a range of vehicles designed for both personal and commercial use, including cargo-focused options suited to urban environments.

One such model is a four-wheeled electric vehicle designed to transport goods while operating within cycle lanes and similar spaces. The collaboration is expected to explore how these vehicles can be integrated into areas that present logistical challenges, particularly where roads, cycle paths and pedestrian zones intersect.
