Donald Trump has reportedly been giving pairs of his preferred dress shoes to senior aides, officials and visiting figures, according to reports in the United States. The footwear, produced by the Wisconsin-based brand Florsheim, has become a talking point among people working closely with the president, with several recipients said to wear the shoes during meetings when he is present.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the shoes are relatively affordable compared with luxury fashion brands, typically priced at about $145 (£107), with some pairs available at a lower clearance price. Despite their modest cost, the gesture has drawn attention within political circles, where recipients are reportedly careful to be seen wearing them around the president.

Several prominent figures are said to have received pairs, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. Others mentioned in reports include Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, communications director Steven Cheung and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, as well as commentators and political allies such as Lindsey Graham, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity.

Reports also suggest that Trump has occasionally praised the shoes during meetings and asked colleagues about their sizes. At times he has reportedly brought out a catalogue to show the range. The chief executive of Florsheim’s parent company, Thomas Florsheim Jr, said he was not aware of the president’s preference for the brand and declined to comment further.
