In a statement shared on social media, the band confirmed his death and paid tribute to his role in shaping their sound and success. Arnold was credited with helping to define mainstream rock in the late 1990s and 2000s, combining accessible post-grunge melodies with emotionally direct lyrics that resonated with a broad audience. His songwriting included the group’s breakthrough hit Kryptonite, written when he was just 15.

Formed in 1996 in Alabama, 3 Doors Down went on to achieve global success following their record deal in 1999. The band described Arnold’s music as extending far beyond live performances, creating moments of connection and shared experience for listeners over several decades.
